Entrance to the Nepalese UN Compound
The United Nations will authorize an independent international investigation into the source of the cholera epidemic in Haiti, which some studies have linked to a camp for Nepalese peacekeepers.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has begun talks with the Geneva-based World Health Organization to appoint a panel of scientific experts, UN spokesman Farhan Haq said. “The panel will be completely independent and will have full access to all UN premises and personnel,” he said.

The Army We Hope to Muster in this War Against Cholera...

I'd like to take a few minutes to introduce you to some of the groups and organizations with whom we hope to serve in pressing the fight against cholera in Haiti...

There are many devoted, highly compassionate, wonderfully loving people who are all working to preserve life and even spread the gospel of Christ throughout Haiti.

Though this list may not be complete just yet - And although some of these organizations may very well be too overloaded to contribute during this mission, these are some of the amazing people and organizations with whom we hope to wage war against cholera, reaching our hands down into the miry clay to snatch out the battered people of Haiti...

For they are an incredible and worthy people... And they are ALL part of our family.

Cary, North Carolina

Bahamas Habitat is an incredible organization that is basically a missionary air force comprised of nearly 400 pilots and aircraft that have come forward to volunteer their time and aircraft in service of our King.

Their operations extend far beyond this single mission called IV4HAITI though.  Bahamas Habitat pilots were instrumental in transportation of relief supplies, personnel, and many other critical cargo items immediately after the January earthquake.  They continue this service even up to today.

At this point in time, Bahamas Habitat Aviation and Disaster Response Coordinator Cameron King has informed us there is a veritable "air force" of 120 pilots and aircraft that are available to participate in this operation to supply the Cholera Treatment Centers (CTC's) and the Cholera Treatment Units (CTU's) all over Haiti with critical RL IV Fluids... a necessary tool in combatting and "killing" cholera.

If we are able to muster the support from the American People, we have been assured that we have more than ample resources to transport these lifesaving medical supplies to Haiti...

If you've ever wondered what it might be like to participate in a "lifesaving humanitarian aid mission" well... Now is your chance to be on the "frontlines" - even if you are staying at home...

Remember... $100 will literally purchase the IV fluid, transport it to Haiti, and put it in the hands of the doctors and nurses that will implement it IMMEDIATELY to save the lives of 7 to 14 human beings... REAL people that would die without... Join us... Let's put these pilots at Bahamas Habitat to work!  They LOVE to fly!
From these photos, you can see that Bahamas Habitat is no stranger to the mission field... They have delivered tons and tons of lifesaving supplies.  They have made themselves a "conduit of life" for more human lives than they will probably every admit.
Together we can put their aircraft in the air, and en route to Haiti loaded out with lifesaving medical supplies... I ask you to consider this... seriously... and join us in this war on cholera!

Venice, Florida

The Agape Flights Mission is simple, and completely founded in serving humanity...

Agape Flights is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Christian aviation ministry transporting continuous and critical supplies to support missionaries, their families and their unique missions.

Agape is committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through the missionaries it serves.

These are "air warriors" of Christ... Their name literally means "God's Love Flights" as "agape" is a word demonstrating God's perfect love...

Nearly thirteen million people live in the areas regularly reached by Agape’s flights to Haiti, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.

The critical supplies transported to over 300 missionaries, their families, and their missions are used to change lives, one person at a time.

Each year, Agape Flights touches the lives of over one million men, women, and children through its affiliated missionaries who provide clean water, community health, education, evangelism, medical services, micro enterprise, orphan care, and vocational training.

They operate flights out of Venice, FL, delivering daily, medical, and relief supplies to their member/partner missionaries all over the Caribbean.

We are hoping that those missionaries might be connected with or actually inherent parts of currently established medical missions and/or cholera treatment centers.

If so, then Agape Flights may very well be able to assist us with the transportation of these lifesaving IV fluids... working alongside Bahamas Habitiat to deliver these supplies to Haiti for distribution.

Agape Flights is another organization that simply LOVES to fly!

If you join our ranks on the IV4HAITI Mission, you may very well be keeping the Agape pilots and crews working diligently to supply their partner missionaries with lifesaving medical supplies throughout haiti.

Click "DONATE" today!  Help us fight this war on cholera!  Together we can save the lives of many battered people who would be lost without our having reached out a loving hand.

Join us and allow yourself to literally feel the Consequence of Compassion...

Children of Hope Orphanage and Hospice
Thomazeau, Haiti

The owners/coordinators of this orphanage, Bobby and Lourdie Toussaint, have offered to assist with distribution of supplies by whatever means they can.

Currently, there are 50+ orphaned children that reside at this orphanage.  We spent a great deal of time here when we were in Haiti in November of this year.

Bobby & Lourdie Toussaint

We are sponsors of this orphanage, and hope to be considered a part of the CHOH family as we continue to serve with them for many years to come.

CHOH kids singing "I Am Not Forgotten"

Bobby and Lourdie are humble servants who do anything and everything they can each and everyday to care for both the children God has put in their loving hands and for all the people of the small town of Thomazeau where the orphanage is located.

They are lovingly compassionate people who work daily to care for any and all who cross their paths.

We are also working to assist the Children of Hope Orphanage and Hospice with the difficult task of seeking out and securing sponsorship to provide the funding necessary to operate the orphanage and care for the more than 50 children that now reside there.

Bobby has a flatbed truck at his disposal that he has stated could be implemented to pick up cases of IV fluids at the airport and assist in distributing these lifesaving fluids to cholera treatment centers (CTCs) that are in dire need of these fluids even now...

Townsend, Tennessee and Port au Prince, Haiti

Church of the Cove is an incredibly faithful group following Christ in all that they do.

We had the opportunity to serve beside several members of this God fearing, humanity loving congregation while we were in Haiti.

The COTC Guesthouse in Port au Prince

All of us, including the Church of the Cove members stayed at the guest house maintained and operated by fulltime Church of the Cove Missionaries Greg and Michelle Roberts, who live in Port au Prince with their two loving Christ following children Dustin and Ashton.

They are a family of believers in Christ who are constantly allowing themselves to be used as our Father's Hands and Feet throughout Haiti.

The Roberts Family

We are hoping to work with the Roberts family to effectively distribute the lifesaving IV fluids that will be flown into Haiti by, God willing, both Agape Flights and Bahamas Habitat.

Greg and Michelle have become more than accustomed to the terrain and the "gridlock" that is Port au Prince - Having them as part of such an operation will only make it flow more smoothly, and move much more quickly than without their astute ability to operate in an environment like that which is currently Haiti...

Concord, North Carolina and Aquin, Haiti

Project 127 has an orphanage called the Hope House which is located in Aquin.

They also have a well drilling rig which is to be transported to Haiti from North Carolina in the first days of 2011.

This is an incredible tool which they hope to implement to bring clean drinking water to those without, while simultaneously bringing the good news of the imminent return of our King, Jesus Christ of Nazareth...

We hope to work beside the Project 127 staff both in the United States for staging and support as well as on the ground in Haiti when the time comes to bring these lifesaving supplies to those in need.

Likewise, in the case of Project 127, we hope to work with them drilling wells and providing clean water sources for the Haitian people on the "back end" of the mission.

That's all for now, folks... Please join us in this war on cholera in Haiti... And if it's not too much... I ask that you tell your friends, family, and coworkers about this mission project... Together we can save the lives of MANY who will die a very real and very horrible death without our help.

Join forces with IV4HAITI and feel the Consequence of Compassion...

What is Cholera anyway? Current Statistics: 2193 Dead & 46,749 Hospitalized

So, what is cholera anyway?  This is cholera:

This is cholera under an electron microscope.  Nasty little bugger...

But what exactly is cholera, anyway?

Cholera is an infection of the small intestine caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. The main symptoms are profuse watery diarrhea and vomiting. Transmission is primarily through consuming contaminated drinking water or food. The severity of the diarrhea and vomiting can lead to rapid dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Primary treatment is with oral rehydration solution and if these are not tolerated, intravenous fluids. Antibiotics are beneficial in those with severe disease. Worldwide it affects 3-5 million people and causes 100,000-130,000 deaths a year as of 2010. Cholera was one of the earliest infections to be studied by epidemiological methods.

This strain of cholera that has been found currently in Haiti, however, is NOT the strain that one would expect to have found there.  From the Harvard University Medical School we see:

A cholera strain that has killed more than 2,000 people in Haiti since October is South Asian in origin, according to a study conducted by several Harvard affiliates, who matched bacteria samples from Haiti with ones from Bangladesh.

“Our main finding suggests, but does not prove, that the Haitian strain was introduced by some type of human activity from South Asia,” said Matthew K. Waldor, who organized the study and is a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, as well as an attending physician in infectious diseases at Harvard-affiliate Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

This is where many believe the Cholera Epidemic began: UN - NEPAL

And now?  Many of the morgues are overflowing, and this is how many are buried at this time...

And here are the current "numbers" on the cholera epidemic currently ravaging Haiti (the following is only a summary.  For a more complete report, click the link to the source):

Haiti: Cholera Situation Report #25 - 10 December 2010

I. HIGHLIGHTS/KEY PRIORITIES

· The Ministry of Health (MSPP) has reported 2,193 deaths and 46,749 hospitalised cases of cholera since the beginning of the outbreak. The in-hospital fatality rate is 3.2 percent nationwide.

· Cholera response activities have been greatly affected and disrupted by the ongoing political crisis, due to the contested release of the first round presidential election results.

· Lack of partners for WASH as well as for other clusters is reported as one of the major contraints to implementing cholera response activities in many parts of the country; including the North West and Centre Departments.

· CCCM partners are currently trying to get back to normal operations after three days of interruption of cholera response activities.

Many hold out with hope for a solution...

One thing I noted while on the ground in Haiti was this:  Where there is less of the "world" or the "social order" we've masked the earth with, the more easily it is to see the Hand of God in motion...

In Haiti, where there is faith in God... Oh how incredibly great is that faith...

Let us keep the people of Haiti in our thoughts and prayers... And if your soul feels burdened with the desire to reach out a hand and snatch up those that you can out of this "mud" then I invite you to make a financial and prayerful contribution to IV4HAITI.

I can assure you of this much... You won't regret the consequence of compassion...

Thanks so very much for stoppin' by!

Use the Wisdom of the Elephant as Our Example...

I like this... Perhaps if we follow the "rescuer's hand" (or trunk, in this case) of the elephant saving the life of one of their own we might just be able to rally around the Haitian People and pull them up out of the mud as well...

Check this video out... *smiles*
Baby Elephant Rescued from Dying...

We are still at 6 cases of IV fluids funded... The decision is simple:  $100 on "me" is fun... $100 to IV4HAITI preserves 7 to 14 souls alive... Join us!  It's your turn to save a life!!

Cholera - The Challenge at Hand...

I will always begin these posts by simply asking you to come and join us... If you cannot go with us into the field, please take the time to "click through" one of the donation buttons to the right...

People are dying.  You can help stop that from happening... I thank all who have already contributed - I thank all of you who will come forward and save the lives of those who will die without!

You are a blessing to an entire nation in desparate need of assistance!

As of today cholera is waging war against the Nation of Haiti...

There are more than 2,200 dead.

More than 44,000 hospitalized.

More than 94,000 infected.

The Haitian Goverment projects more than 650,000 people... just like you and me... will be infected with cholera over the coming six months.

650,000 NEW cases projected over the next 6 months - in a country smaller than the State of Maryland...

How many will die?  How many more children will be made orphans?  How many among the dead will be children?  Orphans?

This photo is of a two year old little baby girl who lost her battle with Cholera only 60 seconds before this picture was taken.  What you see here is the attending doctor binding her feet for burial... This was an absolutely needless death.

As I pray for my Father in Heaven to break my heart with those things that break His own heart... I pray that He lead me to those who will reach out that helping hand that is truly critically important for the Haitian People right now...

We have pilots.

We have aircraft.

We have missionaries willing to deploy and work distribution.

Most importantly... IV4HAITI is a Humanitarian Aid Mission that is NOT a dank and cold blackhole of a money pit that will absorb the contributions of compassionate people trying to help - never demonstrating an "end use" to those funds...

In fact, this mission is one where the donors are only a mere ONE DEGREE of separation from the end result... And you will all be able to follow our progress and monitor our operations as we go back to Haiti.

You will see video and photos of our network of pilots, missionaries, and medical personnel delivering lifesaving medical supplies to Cholera Treatment Centers (CTC's) and Cholera Treatment Units (CTU's) throughout the Haitian countryside, and even in Port au Prince the devastated capital of this broken and wounded nation.

Today, I am selecting photos and video footage to implement in our "campaign information & fundraising video".  As soon as this "tool" is completed, I will be forwarding it to all of my friends on Facebook, all of my email contacts, to my family, friends, professional acquaintances, business owners, and even church leaders across the entire nation...

My objective?  Kill cholera.  Kill IT before IT kills Haiti... Too many have already been needlessly lost to a disease that is easily combatted with the right resources.

Together... Together we can muster and deliver those very resources so that no more innocent 2 year olds are prepared for burial... victims of a relentlessly simple killer named Cholera.

May our Father bless and keep you all...
Paul
